WKSGA Regulations

  • Every player must have a current, active U.S.G.A. GHIN handicap card from a member club. Current is defined as: there are at least 5 scores posted within the last year. Juniors are eligible for free GHIN cards...therefore, there is NO reason not to have a handicap card! If you have questions regarding the handicap card and how to obtain one, please see you club pro or contact the Kentucky Golf Association.
  • The tournament will be conducted under USGA rules with such exceptions as the Tournament Committee may announce.
  • Pairings and starting times will be mailed to all contestants approximately one week prior to the tournament. If we have participants who withdraw, the pairings and starting times may change. Make sure to check the starting tee time form when you register for the tournament on the Sunday prior to the Qualifying Round on Monday.
  • The Championship Flight will consist of the 31 low qualifiers and the defending Champion or the 32 low qualifiers in the event the defending Champion is not entered.
  • Ties for the last place in the Championship Flight shall be played off, hole by hole. Players thus tied must be available for play at the time of the play-off or forfeit their right to the upper flight. Ties for the last place in other flights will be determined by USGA rules.
  • Ties for Medalist will receive duplicate prizes.
  • Contestants who are late for their starting times shall be penalized according to USGA rules.
  • Once a contestant has been paired for match play, she is required to play all matches until eliminated unless withdrawal is approved by the Board of Directors. Non-compliance with this rule will result in a one-year ban from State Tournament participation.
  • Pace of Play will be strictly enforced. Players who choose to walk will be expected to keep pace of play with others in their group. For rulings on any questions, consult the USGA Rules or members of the Rules Committee.
  • In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measure distance only. If, during any round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to guage or measure other conditions that might affect her play, the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
  • Carts will be allowed for both player and caddies upon pre-payment.
  • Personal coolers will be allowed....but, No Alcohol is to be brought on the club premises.

Caddies

Contestants who choose to use a caddie must specify such on their entry form. Please introduce the caddie to your fellow-competitors or opponent. Should there be any questions regarding the use of a caddie or etiquette - please see a Board member or a Rules Official.

Caddies may ride in carts with their player - only if they have prepaid. (See entry form)
